11th December
So clearly I am not as hardcore as the other two girls and have to deal with our journey onwards to K.L nursing an awful hangover. Our last bus journey in South East Asia was well documented by Carly with her new camera bought from China Town in Singapore. The old one having been left in Georgetown... We are staying in Reggae Mansion in K.L, a little more expensive than what we have been pauing but we were lured in by the sight of the unique 'pod style' beds. We booked a 24 bed dorm and were instantly greeted with new friends. We ventured out into China Town market for carly to buy yet more watches... I definitely need to reign her in soon! A night out is in order tonight and after sneakily pre drinking in the dorm, being told off by Sharief the guard who had been watching us on CCTV and playing a newly invented drinking game of 'pick the pod' we headed to Traders Sky bar to take in the impressive view of the twin towers.

Marieke and I left a very hungover Carly in bed and ventured into the swealtering heat of Kuala Lumpur to find a lake where we could hire boats. Very romantic. After walking for 30 minutes and losing half of our faces down our dresses we arrived at a beautiful Botanic gardens. The lake however, as we were informed, did not have boats for hire... our bible let us down! There was only one option now, and that was ice cream. On our return to the hostel, Carly was wide awake and ready to hit the market, again! Our bags are getting heavier..

We decided to hit the huge shopping mall today and spend our yet to receive Christmas money on new clothes for Australia, Thanks Mum! Jumping on the crammed MRT (nothing like Singapore's well oiled system) we fought for a space. Elbows out ladies! We arrived at the mall and were greeted by the record breaking largest gum ball machine in the world. Oh and did I mention on the 5th floor, the full sized roller coaster complete with loops? Crazy.
A night out to celebrate our last night in Asia is in order tonight with some of the fab people that we have met here. I ended my night with a phonecall to help the family celebrate my gorgeous Nannas 92nd birthday, Happy Birthday Nanna!

Our last day in K.L today, our flight is at 11.30pm. We spend our last few hours soaking up the last of Asia which included, you guessed it, markets. Carly and Marieke tried their luck by bargaining with a stall owner to give them a free watch if they managed to sell one for him, que London style market quotes being hollered at passers by... I guess if all else fails...! In true style, we have bought way too much and now need to figure out a way of getting it sent home. In our quest to find a post office, we found 3 very helpful policemen who as much as we tried, would not take us in their police van.
We are both feeling quite melancholy about leaving Asia now. We have had the most amazing time here and the 4 months have just flown. We have experienced some truely fantastic cultures and met so many friends along the way. Without a doubt we'll be back.
Australia here we come!!
