Great excitement today, we’re picking up a hire car! After breakfast we walked up to the car hire office a short distance away and picked up a Mitsubishi ASX, not bad really but it’s silver! Following another large breakfast, we went off in search of our car hire office in readiness for tomorrow’s next leg. So safely sorted, we then decided to walk along the river bank, passed the restaurants and bars that we’d seen last night and carried on for a bit until we found a park area and stopped for lunch. Continuing with the walk, we happened upon a beach area and swimming pool, which look absolutely fabulous! Shame I didn’t have my cossie... but...

A very comfortable flight! We arrived at our hotel, the Martiottin Brisbane at about 1.30. Nice room with a view over the Brisbane River. A refreshing cuppa later and we’re off to explore the area.
