A very comfortable flight! We arrived at our hotel, the Martiottin Brisbane at about 1.30. Nice room with a view over the Brisbane River.

A refreshing cuppa later and we’re off to explore the area.

We wandered down to river side, where there are loads of bars and restaurants. We spotted the Pig and Whistle serving typical pub grub and might go there later for dinner. We happened upon the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, which were very pretty with lots of cranes stalking about!

Back to the hotel for a freshen up and then the Pig and Whistle has a plate of fish and chips with my name on!
