Hi everyone Firstly heard about the business in London - hope nobody we know is affected. Good news of the Olympics though. Since the last postcard in New Orleans we stayed with some friends in North Florida for a few days and it was great to get out of the tropical nightime heat of the south. Florida was cool but all too broke to go to DisneyWorld. After that we had a day in Savannah Georgia - really picturesque stuff before heading up to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. This place was really crazy - it's where they all go for spring break. Couple of crazy nights out but cut a bit short by the local fuzz who didn't enjoy us sleeping in the van! Managed to top up the old tans though so nice and brown again. From there we headed to Washington DC for the July 4th celebrations. Hideously cheesy American stuff but managed to catch the marching bands and saw a concert with the Beach Boys (miming), Gloria Estefan, the OJ's and Il Divo. Somehow managed to hold our dinner down during the rendition of 'God bless America'. Concert presented by a guy similar to the bloke off 'World's scariest Police chases'! Also witnesses the world's bes firework display so overall really fun. Next day was cultural seeing all the memorials, monuments, museums and other things beginning with 'M'. Now emotionally dropped off Billy (the van) and currently in a hostel in the Big Apple. Bring it on - there's showers. YES!
