We are now in San Pedro de Atacama after our plans to do the Pachamama North trip were scuppered :( So we did the 23 hour trip on a big bus instead of a crappy minibus. At least there was leg room and we get more time in the best stop on the tour :)

We?re staying in a small family run hostel and the town itself is absolutely tiny - there?s one main street and a town square, that?s it. But it?s lovely and sunny, not a cloud in the sky.

Tonight we?re going on a trip to a local astronomical centre (gurn face) to see the stars and planets. We?ve decided to go to Bolivia on a 4 day 4-wheel-drive trip on Tuesday. We?ve heard very mixed reports of these - the quality of the trip appears to depend entirely on the driver. However, we?ve had a recommendation of a good driver who hopefully will not get drunk and drive!
