So we rented the pickup i was talking about and twas a lot of fun drivin round the island in it, although the waterfalls were certainly not the best weve seen, we ended up havin to hike for ages through the woods only to find that the waterfall was little more than a small stream, ah well. The rest of our stay in kho chang basically consistede of a couple of late nights in the bars that dont seem to close until everyone goes home and of course got a nice bit of sunburn on the beach (but not as much as irish face so its all good). so we stayed 6 nights in total which is the longest weve stayed anywhere yet (and also the worst room so sleeping wasnt a major part of the stay!). then it was a very sleepy boat/bus journey to bangkok.
We have been here in bangkok for the last 3 nights, i really didnt like it the 1st time roumd but i think weve experienced enough crazy cities now that we really liked it this time round. We went to see the usual tourist places, the giant budda who we climbed and set free 5 little birds from a cage at the top (a beautiful bonding experience) then we went to golden mountain and saw what i think is the countrys biggest pagoda (big gold cone). then we got some shirts tailored (excuse me) hopefully they'll last longer than my poor shoes. the other highlight was the tuk tuk me and the face got at bout 1 in the morning, he decided to go 'extreme tuk tuk' for our benefit. that involved driving as fast as possible, breaking every single red light and even doing a wheelie at one stage (not easily done in a tuk tuk!).
so thats about all thats happened, we wanted to head to Malaysia today but demonstrators have closed the airports so all the buses and trains are full except the bus to kho samui so thats where were headin. bus leaves at 8pm and we'll get there at 9am tomorrow morning, yaaaaaay.
