Hello everyone,

So this is what happened during the rest of stay in Phuket...

At breakfast on Thursday there was a fat American chap near us on his laptop checking out photos of Thai ladies on Facebook. Then a little while later he started a Skype conversation with his friend which went something like this: 'yeh i'm in Phuket at the moment...yeh it's great, I went for dinner with 5 Thai girls last night...they were all about 35'. Considering he looked older than 50 it was pretty gross, some people have no shame! Anyway, we spent most of the day relaxing on Karon beach and swimming in the sea which was nice. We watched some people have a go at para-sailing which looked very dodgy. As the person with the parachute gets pulled off the beach and up into the air by the boat, a Thai guy holds onto the ropes and gets lifted up as well, then pulls himself up so he's sitting behind the person on top of the ropes. Bearing in mind he's not attached at all and is really high up. Then when they fly the people over the beach, the man directs the parachute by hanging off it and holding on with just his hands. It was entertaining to watch but could go so badly wrong! In the evening we rented a scooter again, went to Kata for dinner, then headed over to Patong again. I was really keen to get a picture of Ryan with a lady boy. We were provided with the perfect opportunity when we saw a group of them dressed in cabaret gear on Bangla road. We both had pictures with them but Ryan wasn't too happy as they kept touching him inappropriately and forcing his hand on to their boobs. They managed to get 100 bahts out of us just for taking pictures but it was worth it as now I've got some great pictures which will be on the internet soon :D.

On Friday morning we decided to do something really cultural and educational... so went to Dino Park mini golf in Kata. It was actually really good! Ryan won by one point but since he cheated a bit, I think I won really! Afterwards we went for a drive along the coast on the scooter. We stopped at Surin beach which is beautiful. I really wanted to go in the sea but got too creeped out by the little jellyfish which were getting washed up on the sand. On the way back we took a wrong turn and ended up getting stuck in what seemed like rush-hour traffic heading towards Phuket Town. We got back to the hotel in one piece in the end though! In the evening we saw the baby elephant that Ryan had spotted earlier in the week. We stopped to stroke and feed it. It was so cute! I really hope it's well looked after...

We made the most of the scooter on our last day in Phuket. We drove the other way along the coast stopping at Karon view point and Promthep cape where we got some amazing views. On the way back we stopped at a reggae themed bar on a hill overlooking the sea owned by a really nice Bob Marley fan. After getting some lunch and chilling out a bit we got the mini-bus to the airport where we got our plane back to Bangkok!
