Hi everyone, I have just arrived in Bangkok (well yesterday) and am just getting my bearings. Bit of a panic last night when I was on the plane. Well before the plane took off from Brisbane there was a shout "is there a doctor onboard". Of course up I jumped thought I'll pretend to be one! Nah only kidding, instead they took a look at the woman and threw her off the plane. Nah almost kidding again, she wasn't well enough to travel, so she got off the plane. We then had to wait an hour for them to find her bags! That delay out of the way I settled down to some movies and the best service I have ever had on a flight. Singapore airlines are the best bar none! First hickup was when we got to singapore. I thought I'd check my emails and then looked at my hotel booking email again (just to be sure). There was a link on the email saying check status so I clicked it to se what the story was. "Cancelled due to hotel being full" s***, I've no where to stay tonight. Don't worry Mick, just book another hotel. No can do as it is for tonight and the internet will only allow me to book for the next day! Bollox, I was now heading to a country with no hotel or idea where to go. Panic over and back in to ozzie mode "no worries, it will all sort itself out" Before the plane landed in Bangkok the airhostess handed out landing cards for passport control. Filled it all in bar the section saying visa number. Sh*t and boll*x I knew STA travle told me something about Visa's 4 months ago. Was it to get a visa for thailand in Australia? If it was I'm spending tonight at the airport or worse in a thai jail!!!! I was cacking it when I went up to the thai passport desk only to find out I didn't need a visa. I do for Vietnam and I hope to get it today. Booked a hotel easy at the airport and got a taxi straight there. I was knackered and collapsed into my bed at 9:30 Thai time. This was 12:30 ozzie time and I'd been going since 6 that morning. Up this morning and off to get that visa. Went down the Khao San rd for a look and was then picked up from my hotel at 1 to go on a tour of the temples in bangkok. This was a free trip included with booking the hotel at the airport. It was okay apart from stopping at a few shops that I didn't want to go to to try and sell me touristy stuff. I must now find the dubliner bar as it shows all of the irish games and Cork and Kerry are in action on Sunday. Hopefully Tyrone beat the dubs also. Anyway must go, Love as always Michael
