Little Mick's Hunny Harem Extravanganza
Kings Canyon was another early start and we starting the climb up heart attack hill at 6:30. The colours in the sky were amazing with a great pinkish red tint on the clouds. Kings canyon was pretty cool with some great look out spots and then we continued to walk over to the garden of eden.
At the garden of eden there was a big lake / pond? that Matt had agreed he would jump into if one of us jumped into it. A quick flash to the group whilst changing into my swimming trunks infront of every one and then I jumped in. F*ck me it was freezing. Every one reckoned the look on my face was enough to keep them out, but Alan and Michael before followed me and jumped in. It was so cold that my whole body turned red? How or why who knows, but believe me it was cold. Not the best way to impress the girls (if I was trying), but then again it had to be done. Needless to say Matt chickened out and was very lucky that myself and James didn't throw him in clothes an all.
As we were leaving another crowd started to jump in. There was a few guys and two or three girls also. Good to know we're not the only lunatics on the planet! We got some great group photos on the canyon and also got James doing his impression of the karate kid ontop of a rock. I had visions of him falling off into the canyon. Try explaining that one back home in Galway?
We left Kings Canyon and headed towards some where else for lunch. After lunch we were heading for Jim's place and another walk rainbow something (I can't recall, but we didn't get there any way). At Jim's place we went in to see Dingy the famous singing Dingo. Michelle played on the panio and sure enough up jumped Dingy to howl the house down. It was very funny to see. We didn't do the last walk as time was against us and it would mean getting back to Alice springs quite late so instead we headed straight back for Alice. It was still gone 6 when we got back.
I just had time enough for a shower before heading to Angies to meet all the gang for dinner. We'd a good old feed and then headed to bojangles to party the rest of the night away. We were all fairly well oiled by the end of the night.
The next morning I met Katrin and Christina for breakfast and also bumped into Sandra, Cathy and Matt. I was flying with Sandra and Cathy and Liz to Cairns so I met them later on that day again.
The 3 1/2 day trip was probably my best time in australia to date and the group of us travelling really made it. Hopefully I will keep intocuh with the most of this gang as we hada a good laugh. Isn't that right Batman>?
Anyway must go again. Never have any time for this internet business. Going to watch Cork and Galway in P.J O'Brien's in Cairns- come on the rebels.
Love to all,
Mick
