o.k...so sally and my note II are not cooperating. so our photos are coming at a later date. (maybe my Matthew can help me fix it). We drove 7 hours yesterday with a stop in Bloomington, MN to see the Mall of America. It was huge and all the sights and sounds attacked all our senses, especially since I've been mall deprived for the past 6 months. There were many temptations but I resisted. Norm found a great deal on Clarks shoes, 2 pairs for $100!! The malls in Hong Kong rival the biggest mall in America. Then we drove to Minneapolis, where sally got lost. she does well on Highways but gets lost in city centres. Minneapolis is a small city of 328,000 (smaller than Mississauga) and it is very quiet and clean. Reminded us of Indianapolis in its walkability and simplicity. There is one 'happening' strip, an outdoor pedestration mall called Nicolett Mall. We happened upon a jazz club called Dakota where Davina and the Vagabonds were playing 40's style jazz. AMAZING!!(from Norm) After a long drive, we still had enough energy to enjoy a wonderful evening. Hope you are all doing well and thanks for following along with us. It helps us remember everything we have done. Off to Minot, North Dakota...another 7 hour drive of reading, eating, chatting, listing to local radio and Deepak Chopra, sketching and entertaining norm with my ukulele.

Lori Not missing great weather here so sounds like you left at the right time. Love to follow the adventure!
Jan I guess Mary Tyler Moore was nowhere to be seen! You are amazing to have kept your shopping resolutions! And again to go to a jazz bar after all that driving! I understood your entire message, and now I know there is such a thing as Garrett popcorn it was not a typo of great popcorn....
Noreen Hi! I'm enjoying your adventures, and can just imagine the mall atmosphere, and jazz tunes... having trouble with the ukulele , though. Are you playing a real one, Marianne?? :) Continued safe driving.
alice buchanan You guys are making good time!! Love the spoon and cherry sculpture. Where is that?...Minneapolis? We spent a very muggy day at African Lion Safari yesterday with John's nephew, niece in law, 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son. It was sooo much fun to be around little kiddies! Any speeding tickets yet, Norm?
Marianne Lori, the weather here is sporadic , one minute it's beautiful and sunny the next it's torrential rain...I must say the dry air makes for good hair but there are many pumped up mosquitoes! I have more bites than when we go camping. J...Mary Tyler Moore was no where to be found. I do make interesting auto correct topping errors. Noreen, Matthew bought me ukulele for Christmas and Alice, Ellen b. (Her friend...now my friend) joined me for lessons.my gr. 6 teacher taught it for music 40 some years ago. Alice, Africa lion safari must have been sooo much fun! You are an awesome great auntie. No tickets, yet :-).
