Hey guys,
We're back in London from our trip home taking in Singapore, Adelaide, Broken Hill, Sydney and Hong Kong! We managed to avoid Swine Flu and wasn't detained anywhere thank god.
We first travelled on the new Qantas A380, it was the smoothest and quietest flight ever and was a huge plane! We spent a few days in muggy Singapore, where we slept quite alot, even though the a/c in the hostel was only on at night! We weren't that impressed with Singapore but still enjoyed our time there.
We landed in Adelaide and spent a few days. Sorry we didn't manage to catch up with many of you but time flies by so fast. We then went to Broken Hill and we had a party for mine and mum's birthdays and also to celebrate our engagement. Was great to catch up with old friends and family. We spent most of our time building a pool room at my parents holiday house about an hour out of town. We managed to get most of it done. We worked 14 days straight so we were completely knackered when we left.
We flew to Sydney for a few days of rest. While we were home my Dad's real mother contacted him after 57 years (he's adopted) and said she wanted to meet up. So me, Toni and Dad meet her in Sydney, it was an emotional occassion and one of many more to come hopefully. She's a pretty cool granny, fitter than anyone I've meet and she's travelled the world. So I've now got 3 aunties and some cousins in Sydney, all very exciting!
We stopped in Hong Kong for a few days on our way back. We quite enjoyed it and again it was muggy. We saw most of the sights but was a little disappointed we couldn't easily get Dim Sum (Yum Cha)! Overall our other flights with Qantas were very average, espeically the food and their service. Think next time we go home we'll go through the US.
We've moved into a flat in Kilburn, NW London, sharing with 3 girls - Swedish, Brazilian and French. Toni has started work and went to Leeds for a few days in her first week. I'll start looking for work now that we have settled and complete my final uni assignments. I also got my US Green Card approved so I can now work and live in the states for life as long as I keep it valid. We'll think about moving there in a few years, depending on how London pans out.
