I have had a couple of busy days and horrible service...well barely any service really last night so I am combining my last two days! I woke up yesterday to the sound of the ocean....I ad my breakie at the picnic table looking out at the ocean.....I took my time....taking it all in....I think I may of been a little slower knowing that the end of the trip was coming soon...I had contemplated going to a place called Hobbiton....the movie set for the movies Lord of the Rings....now I am not much of a fan of these movies so I wasn't to keen on the idea and spending the money on the tour.....but as I was sitting there I figured why not!? I am practically driving right past it.....so I hopped in my campa and headed to Hobbiton! They took us by bus out into the middle of this huge sheep farm to Shires Rest....those of you who are fans will know this name! We had a tour of Shires Rest....and for someone who's not a fan.....it was sooooo cool and I kinda knew what they were talking about when they explained things! There were people on this tour who knew EVERY little thing!!! We saw where Sam lived with his family in earlier movies then with his wife and children ....where Froto lived up in Bags End.....and the party tree which is how Sir Peter Jackson picked this place....he was doing an aerial tour and this massive tree caught his eye and there it began! At the end we had a pint at The Green Dragon which they have rebuilt.....seeing as it was burnt down in the movie! It was a great fun day! I drove up to a place called Orere Point and camped for the night....probably my least like campground yet! Dark and not many people there made it kind of eerie! Woke this morning and packed up the campa and cleaned it up! Headed towards Auckland which turned out to be an hour drive! Short and sweet....dropped off the campa and headed to my Jucy Hotel!! Not only do they do campers but they have a hostel like hotel.....$35 for my own room and shared baths....one block from the harbour!!! Perfect for me! I dropped my bags and found brunch! I have been eating cereal and yogurt for 6 weeks so was happy to find Avon and eggs and toast! I explored the down town a bit then headed back to the hotel.....some where along the way I fell into my bed and crashed....was so happy for a comfy soft bed!! I headed down to the harbour and met up with some friends I and met last fall when they came to Yellowknife with a mutual friend to see the northern lights.... We had a great visit! Now back in my Jucy room and ready for bed....I wonder if I will sleep past 5 or 6 here?? Probably not....it is a hostel and always sounds busy outside the door! I think I am above the kitchen too!! Tomorrow I will take a ferry to Devonport and explore out here....and the ferries are a great way to see the harbour without paying the big bucks for the harbour cruise!
