Today was a travel day. I took the subway from my hotel to the train station. Another bullet train ride to get to Shanghai. Beijing, Xian and Shanghai are located in a triangle so it is pretty much the same distance from Beijing to Xian as Xian to Shanghai. I arrived in Shanghai and ventured into the city on the subway. I am becoming a pro at this subway thing, although I must admit it is pretty straight forward and everything is written and said in English. My hotel was literally 3 minutes from the Subway Station. It is not located as central as my other hotels and is off the beaten path a bit.

I arrived late afternoon and had not had lunch. Hangry was setting in and I ventured out in need of a quick bite. I walked all the way to the Bund which is a famous waterfront on the Huangpu River where you can see the city sky scrapers and Pearl Tower. I ended up having Subway as I just wanted something quick and easy. I spent some time walking along the Bund. A very busy place!

I made my way back to my hotel after picking up a few things at the corner store.... like milk and cucumber flavored chips! An early night for me. Laying in bed listening to bells ringing, sounds like church bells. Perhaps there is a bell tower near.
