Eating pancakes full of cheesy goodness was a grand way to start the day - who knew that syrup, cheese and batter would work so well?
After our wander around the city, taking in its immaculate golf course, my ear infection from snorkelling too deep in Fiji finally caught up with me. I found myself bed ridden for the day and slept until four in the afternoon.
I awoke feeling un-refreshed and slightly sluggish. I got myself a toastie and a cup of coffee from a local corner shop. I think I could probably live on toasties and coffee - they're both as cheap as chips. I'm changing the British colloquialism from 'cheap as chips' to 'cheap as toasties'.
Later that night we had our flights to Cebu, one of the Philippine's many islands and one that boasted the elusive whale shark. We found ourselves in the strangest airport ever - everyone sat in a singular, tiny room with a Cinnabon cake shop and a Papa Johns pizzeria, there were small TVs dotted around that told you when you could leave the room and board your plane - everyone catching a flight was penned into the this small, tiled room.
As is typical of Manila airport our flight was repeatedly delayed. We ended up leaving at 22:00 in stead of 19:30. In the end our flight was like my relationship with country music, extremely turbulent.
