Days are passing, full of activities such as swimming, walking on the beach, visiting nearby towns and family, going to markets and painting and reading on the terrace. I know...such a hard life.
Yesterday we went down to the sea early to park the van before the market was fully set up. We walked around the market for hours, taking photos, drinking cafe, reading the newspaper and of course shopping a bit. After, we went to la casa della nonna per pranzo. She lives across the street from the beach. I swam the length of the beach three times. I am getting to know the bottom of the sea floor as I would a pool. I can now tell where I am for the most part by the look of the sea floor. It's lovely to be swimming again, and the water here is so clear...almost exactly the colour of pools back home.
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with a swollen lip. Being allergic to most insects that sting I figured I had been bitten by a mosquito on the lip (a particularly vulnerable part), which I did not take to be a big deal and promptly fell back asleep. Later that morning I woke to a larger lip and a puffy eye. Throughout the morning the right side of my face, then a little of the left, and then the back of my head continued to swell and feel numb and tingly. At this point, I was a little more worried. Free cosmetic surgery effects anyone? The lips looked like some of Hollywood's finest. As we were not in the house at this point (luckily we were on our way to see a doctor for Dad adn Anto) I could not take antihistamines at this point. I saw the doctor, a legit one, who prescribed antihistamines, cortozone, and mud treatments. I checked with my medical insurance and the mud parts are not covered. Go figure. I got some antihistamine into me back at the house, had a nap and am now feeling much better.
Tomorrow is the first of the mud treatments. It's a hot treatment at a hospital a few towns over. I'll tell more about it later.
Thanks for all the love.
