Phillips Family Travels
Arrived in Hue at 8:48 and then straight to the hotel where our rooms were ready. Not a fantastic nights sleep but the train was good fun. Went to visit a famous Pagoda and then a trip down the river. Also went to a local families house for lunch and had a look around. The grand mother was 90 years old and showed us the knife she is using to cut food which had a big area that had worn almost to nothing, she had only used three knives her whole life! Had time to take our washing to the local Laundry man who was very friendly and also had three girls who he introduced us to. Wish we could bring him home as he charges £1 per kilo :-) Have to say that we are all getting a little tired of the same food all the time, perhaps we will try something different tonight. We did indeed try something different we went into Hue centre and found a restaurant with more western food, the girls had pizzas and we had burgers etc. met a lovely lad who was working to pay for his university education (see pics). We had walked into towns and we walked home in the first rain we have seen so far which was light. The map we were given was not great so the 2km on the way turned into 4km on the way home. Still we did stumble across a massive church which was nice although did look a bit out of place in its surroundings. There was a night market on the way home along the river front which was lovely to amble through....
