Phillips Family Travels
We woke up in the home stay to dogs barking and a rooster who was in fine voice. Although it was a surprisingly good nights sleep. After a hearty breakfast we packed our stuff and walked out of the home stay to the bus which was to take us back the Saigon. Once back we re checked into our hotel and then the rest of the day was free. We are so well tuned into our group now that even though we did not arrange to walk into town together we all arrived in reception at the same time :-). We walked past some of the sights and sounds of Saigon and grabbed some lunch on the way. Saigon has a very different feel from any of the other cities we have been to in Vietnam. Much bigger and much more westernised. We made our way to the central market which was absolute chaos but great fun. People everywhere and the stall holders all desperate for our business, we negotiated a few good deals and then made our way back to the hotel. Well we have reached the time for our last meal together. Phi took us to a lovely restaurant on the top of one of the sky scrapers which was wonderful. A great time together chatting and sharing final thoughts on the trip. There were a few tears especially from Nadia as she said goodbye to Daisy.... What a lovely group of people we have shared this trip with. Stephan, Angela and Nadja are from Zurich, Switzerland Tony, Anna, Samantha and Tara are from Canberra, Australia but are living in Jakarta, Indonesia for three years with Australian immigration. Amy is Annas sister, she is single and is also living in Canberra Then there is the truly lovely John and Annette (or NatNat that we all call her) they are the parents of Anna and Amy and are just the loveliest people you could wish to meet. John so calm and reliable and NatNat so easy to talk to and sparky. Lastly Lysbeth and her son Samuel are the only other Brits coming from Oxford And then our local guide, Phi who has done such a fantastic job.
