Arrived in LA and as we are only here for 2 days we dropped off our bags at the hotel and went straight to Hollywood boulevard. Saw the walk of fame, Chinese theatre, went to Madam Tussauds and took a tour of stars homes, Beverley hills, rodeo drive and Bel-Air.
LA is an unusual place but an exciting place. Very busy with so many people trying to make money. People selling CDs - which I stupidly stopped and managed to get conned $10.
Lesson 1 - never stop to talk to someone offering you something for free - keep walking and say "no thank you".
Adam got a bit freaked out by the whole scamming and all the people. I could see on his face he was a bit scared. I found the strip exciting and fun. There are lots of look alikes and if you stop to take a photo they expect a tip. There was some guys that looked like the real actors. There was a Michael Jackson who I'm sure had work done on his face as he looked so much like Michael Jackson. One guy was dressed as Wolverine and he looked so much like Hugh Jackman. Then there was the fat green lantern, fat Spider-Man and lots of others who look nothing like the characters. There were a few Marilyn Munro who were doing the dress and vent thing. BUT the highlight of my day was seeing Robbie Williams. He looks so much better in person. There he was sitting in a van waiting for his crew to pack up and he had his window down and was happily talking to people on the footpath. Unfortunately my phone had gone flat and so had the camera but Donny managed to get a photo but by this stage he had put his window up. Spewing!! But I think he must have seen my jaw drop as I was definitely star stuck so he smiled and waved to me. Made my day.
Adam was happy because he managed to see some million dollar car on rodeo drive - I think it was a Bugatti so that made his day. Tomorrow we are off to universal studio.
