The alarm was set to 06:45 but we slept through the awful buzzing sound it makes and was instead woken up by a knocking on our door. The woman from reception said that our bus is here so we quickly scurried out of bed grabbing the rest of our belongings and zipping them up in our backpacks. We went to reception to be told the bus has gone to a different guesthouse and will come back for us.
Darryl said to wake him up before we leave so he can say goodbye so i knocked a few times on his door but there was no answer so i peered my head through his window because he said to chuck something at him if he doesn't wake up and i could see his bare bottom sprawled out over the covers, he looked far too peaceful to wake, i should have remembered he sleeps naked.
The minibus came and dropped us to the bus station. It was a sleeper bus and we were two of the last ones on so the only seats left were the two at the back which belonged to a row of three and we sat next to a woman from London which is strange as we never meet any Londoners. She said she lives in a narrow boat and i asked her if she knew Alison and Suzie but she didn't, she looked like the type who would know them though.
I slept for most of the journey which was quicker than imagined and after around three hours we arrived in Hue. My first impressions weren't very good as i had left the beautiful port town of Hoi An. We went with a guy and his minibus to a hotel which charges $10 a night, i was still so nackered from the lack of sleep so wasn't impressed when he led us to our room, on the 5th floor of the building. I had difficulty dragging my backpack and myself up the stairs and was in a pretty foul mood as we always seem to get the room on the top floor.
I was in no mood to go out exploring so i stayed in the room to catch up on my blog while Dan went out for food. The plan this morning was to go to the baguette stall before our bus came but because we woke up so late we didn't have time. And things like that always throw me off for the day. Literally all i did was stay in the room smoking and writing until it got late and i fell asleep, although we plan to see the ancient citadel tomorrow.
