When we woke up, we packed together some of our things before heading down for the last buffet breakfast. They didn't have bacon this time but had chicken hot dogs instead. We went up three times. I overloaded on cheese and bread as i knew i wouldn't get the same cheese for a loooong time. Our stomachs were full and we went back to the room to to finish packing our things. We headed down to check out and the man at reception handed us a bill for around $40. It said we stayed an extra night and that Dan hadn't paid for his dry cleaning, which he had. Later he apologised and said they were having trouble with their system so we left and hopped in a tuktuk to take us back to the 11 happy backpackers guesthouse. They only had a twin room available which was $14 a night but we thought we may as well just stay there and change rooms the next day.
We dumped our bags in the room and then came back out again. I still needed to fix my camera so we walked to central market to find somewhere to do it there. We passed a camera shop so i dropped my camera into them and they told me to come back in 2/3 hours so we went into the market. They sold everything! There were loads of beautiful flower stalls, little girls making pieces for weddings, the colours and scent was so floral and pretty. A lot of the other stalls were selling clothes and shoes and loads of fake designer handbags. We passed a woman's souvenir stall and bought badges of all the countries we are visiting on the trip to stitch onto our backpacks. I got an egypt one too!
We walked through the food market where they sold shrimp still alive, live eels and crabs as well as loads of fruit and veg. We then walked to a cafe where i saw Sour sop fruit drink and i remembered Mr sa pointed them out to us during our tuktuk ride in Kraitie. It's the same fruit in rubicon guabana flavour, so delicious and juicy! We then walked back to camera shop, when we came in the man said it would cost $50 to repair the lens and the playback button. I was shocked as i only expected to pay around $20 although, i managed to get it down to $40. So he told me to come back at 18:30 to pick it up so in the meantime we went back to the guesthouse.
We had planned to visit the night matket this evening so that's where we headed after picking up my camera, which was good as new thank god! I feel free now! We walked to the market which is near the river front and it was heaving with people and a stage with live vocalists singing. Most of the stalls sold clothes and shoes and sone souvenirs. A girl approached me asking where i had got my navy blue primark t shirt from bless her, she said she would fly to England when i told her where it was- i would have given it to her if i was wearing a vest! We came to a large area with mats laid out on the floor and food stalls surrounding it. We saw loads of stick food, ones that looked like angry birds, green ones, round ones, all sorts! They look like fish ball type things. We came across an indian halal stall and we both got a chicken curry and rice and sat on the mats to eat it. It tasted delicious and didn't take me long to finish it. After dinner dan noticed a woman sitting on the floor with scales infront of her and he weighed hinself, hoping he had put on weight but he hadn't, not even a kg! Then i weighed myself and my self esteem shot right now, i was 64kg! I think i may have had one too many chicken skewers at pai or full english breakfasts at don det...
We then took a walk to the riverfront where we were approached by a small begger girl who wanted money but we gave her candy floss instead, i would really have rather given her a few dollars, no one should take ones candy floss away. We moved upwards away from the beggars abd sat down where we were approached by a local looking man asking for a smoke. But when he spoke i noticed he sounded american to which he said he was. He said his guest house room was broken into and all his money and passport was taken and that he had been living rough for a few days and that his embassy wasn't much help. After a long chat we bought him a bottle of water and headed back to the guesthouse.
The rooftop was booming loud music, good music so we headed up for a drink. We both got an Angkor beer and were cheeky so ordered a Nutella pancake each which was disappointing when it arrived, it was so thick and stodgy and i could barely cut it. After a chill out at the rooftop we headed back to the room for some sleep.
