Hi all, writing here on our last night of Phi Phi Island!!! First things first.... its gorgeous!! We left Phuket ferry pier and it was tipping down...arrived in hi Phi to lush sunshine!! found a hostel Baan Thi guesthouse, which is lovely even though we got a cold shower, thats not attachd to the wall! So we gotta hold it over eachother (Dad, we clsoe our eyes!!!)! its basic but when your paying a tenner a night, its what you get :) so we dumped our bags and got exploring!!! the islands lovely, theres no roads on it atall and you can walk one end to the other in 15mins! Beach is nice but its quite busy. theres a tsunami memorial at the end of the beach, this island was one of the worst affected so theres constant reminders, like the evacuation signs. We walked up to the veiwpoint, which Matt'll even admit a hardsteepclimb, i thought i was dying!!! but the veiw was wellworth it, was stunning, could see both sides of the island!!
The nightlife here is awesome, we spent our fist night, tempted by free buckets! ( Buckets are your choice of spirit and then your mixer but its about 3quid for a whole bucket- our favourite is Sangsom, which is Thai Rum very nice but lethal)!! Woke up after our first night with sand everywhere, covered in UV body paint! Such a good night, got chatting to loadsa people, dancing on the beach! the UV bar, banana bar show a sunset movie on there Bigscreen on the rooftop bar, then as it gets dark, the UV graffti glows, its class in there!
On the beach everynight, they put on fireshows, which are awesome then theres about 6 bars, turn into outdoor clubs! Madness! or you can chill on the sunbeds by candle light we done that Monday night to watch the Man Utd Arsenal Match, stopped dancing at 3am got a big crowd and watched the footie til the sun came up!! for once i didnt mind watching the football!!
Weve met some lovely people at Phi Phi, some are headed to Koh Lanta and Koh Samui,so we might see them again but our good friends, Martyn & Pops have gone home now! They were the only welsh people here other than us! Pops must have been the oldest traveller we'll prob come across, but he was up til 3 on the beach with the rest of us..lovely fellas!!
Today we walked over to Long beach which is secluded, it was a half hour clamber over rocks! it only takes that long to burn like i have today (anyone whos ever been on hols with me will know i Hate strapmarks... well i got a full on vest tan!!), weather was the nicest today, not a cloud and the sea is so clear! Off to Koh Lanta in the morning!! xx
