Well we apologise for the delay in the blogs but look at it this way the longer you wait the more you get at once!To say that we have been busy since leaving Melbourne is an understatement Yeah I drove a lot and Miles slept a lot more That's not fair Jones.
We left Melbourne after a tearful goodby and a few pushes from the lovely Steve and Eve, we truly didn't want to leave the home comforts but this trip wont happen itself, and we have to keep all you guys at home happy!
So Wednesday 5th December we began the journey of the Great Ocean Road, the pictures along the way speak for themselves as it was truly spectacular. It was a lovely hot sunny day the day we began, we stopped off at a gold course in Anglesey to see wild Kangaroos who just hang around the course and occasionally get hit by the odd golf ball! We chose to ignore the WARNING of possible attacks to see how close we could actually get! More along the road that had some of the most amazing views, so much so that kept on holding up a queue of very impatient traffic by driving slowly to get a glimpse of them and then winding them up further by stopping and getting pictures! Aaron spotted some grey bundles in Gum trees While you were asleep yet again, back off Jones, there were Koalas everywhere and just as we got to our free campsite we took a fab picky of one in the tree cuddling her ikkle baby! I'm claiming that one I'll say you were asleep again, I took the picture…what you can drive and take pictures now…superman?! There was even one strolling around the campsite that night!
The second day took us to the 12 Apostles (Only 4 can be seen so why they are still called the 12 and not the 4 baffles me!)Sea Erosion Miles, Sea erosion. We were both suffering from Hayfever and lack of shower and tooth brushing that day, the flies were horrendous too but we did do a few stops, after a point I refused to get out of the van one thing I miss about the English is how polite we are, drivers give way, we understand the meaning of a queue and even the flies are quite polite, but these flies are in your eyes, up your nose and down your throat…so rude! When we got to the site that night we were relieved to see an indoor pool and tv room, we had to stay for 2 nights to get over our very bad cases of hayfever, our eyes were raw. We'd come to the end of the road and were looking forward to Phillip Island and me navigating us there and a mystery superstar!
ps Jones is in Italics!
