8/7/15 Today we drove an hour to the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri' (just outside New Delhi and 250km to our next destination of Samode. Interesting place with lots of history about attempts to bring together Hindus, Muslims and Christians in 1610 AD. Surprisingly, the idea didn't work and was abandoned 14 years after the city was built. It's now just a tourist attraction. 6-7/7/15 New Delhi is a lot cleaner than 1995 when I first visited as diesel is banned and all Tuk-Tuks are now petrol or electric. There's been quite a lot of progress with infrastructure since 2011 when I visited with Mike, my brother. Roads are so much better and there is now a fast growing metro (tube) system that will put much of our 1970's looking underground trains to shame! On the upside the journey didn't take too long but on the downside we had a couple of hours wait for our 'toy' train (narrow gauge and VERY compact, especially with all the baggage that each passenger had. I've added some photos of the train and the journey, whilst it lasted! So far so good but then three hours into the journey the train stopped at a small station / stop because a truck had fallen off the road and had landed on the track. According to the feedba...
