These guys are hand picked by various Indian armed forces (eg. Army, Air Force etc) and are all 6ft tall...not too many local Indians that size! Their march comes straight from Monty Python's Ministry of Silly walks and when I get to upload the mini video I took you.ll see what I mean. All very theatrical and, it seems, loved by the locals. Worth a visit for non-locals as it is definitely a one off and unique to any border management system.

This is the Indian side of the border which is usually much more full than the Pakistan side and holds up to 15,000 people. Yesterday it was almost full which was strange given that the temperature was almost 40 degrees C.

Reasonably good journey apart from the fact that Jet Airways lost my luggage in New Delhi...but after some searching various airports it was, amazingly, found and sent on to Amritsar! Phew! Just about to head off to the India / Pakistan border ceremony at the Wagah Border. Will post Ministry of Silly walks video within the next few hours! Off to the Golden Temple tomorrow and will try to load a few more photos when the wifi speed picks up!

Holiday paid for, itinerary uploaded and visas almost sorted...Indian High Commission are a bunch of bureaucrats and rip off merchants! Rejected application one as they didn't like passport sized photos only 2"x2"....good grief!
