We arrived in San Pedro at about seven in the evening, which meant we had to find a hostel in the dark with all our bags on our backs, however lucky for me i had planned ahead and heard of a good hostel called San Fransisco! Unfortunately for Becky and i, there were three San fransisco hostels in San Pedro, and we ended up going to one that was up a mountain of a hill and was not the cleanest of hostels. We were both not impressed about staying there so we ended up paying out for a little tuk tuk to takes us to Casa Elena, which i had also heard was quite a nice place and thankfuly that was the only Casa Elena in San pedro!
The next morning we awoke to beautiful sunshine and went out kayaking on Lake Atitlan. We imagined there would be loads of people on the lake but it was just the two of us and it was amazingly peaceful. Normally Kayaking between Becky and I, brings arguments of "u´re not paddling hard enough" and "not that way, this way", but thankfully the lake was extremely calm so we came to no lusty blows!
Later that day we went for an explore of the city and found the back streets where all the bars and restaurants hide and just had a bit of a chill. In the evening we had one of the best meals i have had on my travels in D´Noz restaurant. We then ventured for for a couple of drinks around the back streets and the nighttime is where San Pedro typreally shines. All the bars are different in their type and one of our Favourites was Él Jarden, it had a great Garden with great big circular lougers which you could relax and take it the Atmosphere (and of course the beer).
For our last day in San Pedro we decided to have a walk to the Local Villages. One was Half an hour away (San Jaun La Laguna), with a really nice view of the lake and we got a TukTuk San Marcos which we found out was a bit of a Dead town but we had a beer in a retaurant overlooking the lake. We went for another amazing meal that night and got an early night for the shuttle back to Antigua.
