Hello from a still slightly wet but hot Kenya!
Well there is a lot to tell since the last blog update. I am currently in Nairobi leaving Mike in Kimilili this is to do the final bit ( I hope) of my registration process. It has meant spending a week in the national hospital observing and doing some presentations etc etc. It has been an eye opener!! It has been very strange not having Mike around and I am very much looking forward to returning "up country" on Tuesday. Hopefully this return trip I will be transported in our newly bought (but rather old) white land rover!! Having had a fun day of test driving! Including a car that caught fire while test driving it and the guys selling it assure me it was "no problem" and could not understand why I would not buy it!!:) then tried to sell me car that needed a push start but was "fine" after that!!! Needless to say I did not buy either. There were a couple of lovely coloured, nice inside little 4X4 but had to go for the sensible 4X4 that will actually be able to get down our road and go out to villages as needed! If nothing else it was certainly build my muscles!! Great thanks to a great mechanic that gave up his Saturday to go car hunting with me!
Prior to coming back to the capital I had started to get more involved with the health centre and planning for future training and treatment programs. It is great to see the plan slowly rolling out.
Mike is based at HQ and as his facebook status says is getting used to various animals walking by his door! We have both started to fit well in the team and are very grateful for their welcome.
In other news the chickens that Simon and Jane have in our garden have had chicks, which are SO cute! But at some point will be dinner so need to avoid getting to close or I will have to turn veggie!! Although I have less issues with eating the cockerel that has timing issues and seems to think morning is 4am!! Mike is becoming green fingered in an attempt to look after the garden while Jane and Simon are in the UK!
On that bombshell I shall leave for now! Now to go get ready for church. BYE!

Dave How amazing that you have only been summoned to Nairobi for a week - and for finding a LR - I'm interested - eg wheelbase length, engine type and size, mileage/kilometerage, soft top or hard top? Enjoy! Dave
