We headed straight for brunch at Aqua and as soon as we stepped out of the elevator on the fiftieth floor the decadence was incredible. Our blue leather booth looked out over the harbour as we feasted on countless courses of an incredible fusion of Italian and Chinese food. The champagne flowed, even through Bob's glass, accompanied by an extravagant range of cocktails as we were served shushimi, antipasta, pea ravioli, guineafowl, bass, udon noodles, lemon sorbet and coffee. The whole experience was sensational and feeling very rotund we headed back to the racecourse in time to see Able Friend romp home in the Champions Mile.
The atmosphere at the racecourse was awesome as we wandered from the parade ring down trackside, gawping at the thousands of people cheering each race home. After a drink with some of the other vets in the members bar we returned to the flat before heading into town for more drinks and supper, soaking up the party atmosphere and even dancing occasionally.
