Chiang Mai

Arrived at Chiang Mai Airport and it was absolutely roasting!

The minute we got here we wanted to sleep again after the hectic flights. Woke up in the evening and had a look around. Everythings much more civilised and the roads aren't crazy with motorbikes. Also the people here are really friendly.

First day here we decided to go to Tiger Kingdom, which was amazing. :) We got face to face with huge tigers and cuddled them for photos. One of the best experiences so far. However, this was a little scary as they could have actually eaten us!!! After this our Tuk Tuk Driver 'Chai' took us to a Monkey Show. It was good, but very cruel. The poor monkeys were all chained up :( Got back and found a street restuarant which sold dinner for a dollar each and tasted amazing. We've gone here every night so far!

Second day we went elephant riding!!!! wahooo. Was sooo much fun! And also saw an elephant show. They were so clever and looked really happy. The elephants seemed really well looked after and we fed them bananas and oranges.. and money!! The elephant ride was about an hour long, very wobbly but funny. We went in the river and the elephant put water up his trunk and soaked us!! Later on, we went to Chiang Mai Zoo. This was fun, however the animals were all tired, possibly because its sooo hot here :(

Today we're leaving Chiang Mai for the South. Only 20 days left of Thailand so need to start getting a sun tan on the beaches! Hoping to get a train back to Bangkok (which takes forever.. 13hours!) and then a bus to Phuket (which also takes forever... another 8 hours).
