Arrived at Byron Bay at about 11 and checked into the nicest hostel ever! The room we had is huge and all the people in our room are really nice. The weather wasnt great so we just milled about Byron and did a bit of shopping etc, we sat on the beach for a while but it started to rain so we went and did our washing in the afternoon. Byron is a really nice bohemian style town. There isn't much in the way of nightlife but there are some gorgeous resturants and views. Luckily our hotel does a meal every night for $5, and it wa really nice every night so we managed to save a bit of money when staying there!
The next day the weather still wasn't great so we walked up to the Byron Bay lighthouse and the most eastern point in Australia. On the way bac though the sun came out and we both got a little bit burnt walking along the beach.
That night everyone from the room went on a night out together. there is tj and sean from canada, Charlotte from London, Lyndsay from Canada, and Lyndsay and Zoe from Scotland. Alcohol is banned from the rooms at the hostel and apparently room 20 was a notorious party room. We snuck some in but got caught out and got a bit of a telling off from security so had to give it into reception. Me and Gem had already drunk most of ours anyway. It was a realy good night and the people were lovely. we are definitely meting up with canadian lyndsay again, and Charlotte is coming to Surfers Paradise with us. Hopefully will see the others too as we are all travelling up the east coast.
Our last day at Byron was really sunny so the whole room went down to the beach together for the day. me and gem had an early bus in the morning so we didnt go out. Canadian Lyndsay has left and Charlotte stayed in as well.
