Puerto Escondido is one my favourite (so far) beach resorts in Mexico.. Several different beaches, great locals and pretty kool prices..
I had a few nights out here but it's not as crazy as cancun, it's good place though.. Party bars, surfer beaches and tacos everywhere.. I chilled out and meet some kool guys, plenty of back packers coming and going and Americans on holiday.. We all hung out, drank, and partied a little although as seems to be of me lately I was saving it for further a field.. I was excited to see Mexico City too and had a 18hour bus trip.. :-( really have had enough of buses now haha.
As I gaze from the window of my last Latin America bus, John Lennon's imagine is playing on my iPod and I start to reminisce about the adventures of the bus trips since rio.. I had travelled along way and spent over a month in hours on buses.. It was far from over to be honest because I still had the grey hound buses of the good old U.S and A to come..
I arrived in Mexico City bus station and took the underground line to the hostel and sleep for a while.. I looked into bull fighting and some other things I wanted to do, but had missed the chance of Mexican wrestling..!!
The zoo here is the 2nd biggest on the planet but FREE..!! Not one peso, dime or penny to get in..!! So well looked after too, I saw all sorts even giant pandas and tigers..!! Def recommend it to anyone passing through.. The park around it has some crazy museums but I didn't have the time to visit them..I managed to get a ticket for bull fighting for less than £10 and was excited but nervous for the trip the next day..
It's part of Mexican culture and one that although cruel, I had to see.. The matadors are seen as Beckham like heroes, posters across the city and names on t-shirt etc.. It was a great day to be honest.. First we eat meat from the week before that was soooooo good and then I entered the arena.. The crowd was full of older generations in cowboy hats with their grandchildren.. Was funny to see the old girls getting excited when the matadors where introduced etc.. The crowd is really wild and a lot more excited than I expected.. The killing of the bull isn't really entertainment in my eyes, I mean they just slow it down and wear it out before the big kill.. After a few hours of watching and seeing 4bulls killed I decide I've had enough and headed back to sort my things as i was spending the night in the airport, I was flying out at 6am..
Save cash and a night in hostel by sleeping in the airport great saver haha.. Wasn't too bad and added another to the many airports I've slept in before.. At last a flight :-) I was so tired I didn't even see take off, had a row of 4seats to myself and kicked back to sleep :-) at last I was heading to America, a place I had long wanted to see.. I would be meeting with friends from home and past travel experiences and catching up with a brother in Nathaniel.. It was also Christmas Eve :-) things where good hopefully about to get better, but all that can wait for next time..
America land of food, Christmas and new year in San Diego with the red one, and Vegas baby here I come..
Peace out much love Micky xxx
