Today we went round the horn, Cape Horn. The captain decided that the weather would be kind to us and so we went round Cape Horn Island, which meant that we went past Cape Horn. Port Stanley is a notorious port for missing a call because it’s a tender port and because of the wind and waves. Luckily we were able to get in. I’m so glad we did as I had an excellent day. Breakfast, a mile and whales this morning! Barbara and I sat out for a while after our mile and somebody spotted whale spouts. I saw quite a few spouts but nothing else, Barb saw a whale back. The weather is definitely getting cooler. The sea state is choppy and we’ve been bouncing through it like a spring lamb. I hope it calms down for the Falklands as it’s a tender port and the one we’re most likely to miss because of the wind and waves.
