Dry land! After ten sea days! We were supposed to arrive at 10:00 and arrived just before 9:00. This is a country I thought I'd never visit and today marks the third time in three years, so you never can tell. Ocean Princess was already docked when we arrived, as was a beautiful yacht called 'Equanimity', which apparently is owned by the founder of Forever 21.

When I was here last year, I stayed at the Intercontinental, and this year the six of us went there for a pool day. It was great, the price included bed, towel and lunch. The pool was wonderfully inviting and the lunch was very good too. Unfortunately, Linda hurt her leg again, in the pool this time. So instead of taking a bus back, we grabbed another cab. Because we were able to use the hotel's wifi, I was able to update sixty of the sixty one outstanding apps on my iPad and 10 of the 30 on my phone. I was also able to Wechat with Javon in Penang and FaceTime with Angie back in MK.

The ship's Indian staff won't be getting off in either Papeete or Moorea as they need to buy visas. The Filipino staff can. I can see Moorea from my cabin window.

The weather has been hot and humid. It rained for about 45 minutes whilst we were at the hotel, but apparently it was dry all day in Papeete. We were supposed to leave at 19:00, but Moorea is only an hour's ferry ride from Papeete, so 'all on board' is now 2:00. As we tend to leave about half an hour after the final boarding time, that means I'll be woken up by the ship shuddering at about 2:30. I think it comes from the bow thrusters. Then when I've drifted off again, we'll arrive and I'll get woken up again.

Rob, Barb and I ate onshore. A lot of food trucks roll up on the dockside and so we ate there. They ate Chow Mein and I had pizza, my first since 2 January, it was wonderful. Then we went to a bar, where we saw Donna, one of the ents staff. She recommended the pallette of beers. Four 25cl glasses of different beers. They ranged from very nice to never again!

Back on board we won bottle 21 in the TV quiz shows quiz and lost the Syndicate Quiz. A good port day.
