Despite not getting to bed until gone 1:00 didn't sleep too well. Another warm and humid day, 30 at 9:30. Breakfast with Barbara, Rob and Linda, then a mile with the former two. Sat on Promenade Deck with B & R and all six of us then had lunch together.
Tonight at 22:30 we cross the equator back into the northern hemisphere. So we had to ask Neptune's permission. Another crossing the line ceremony was held, this time the battle was between the deck cadets (one of whom seemed afraid of water!) and Neptune's Pirates (Headliners). I think the the cadets won, but either way, permission was granted.
Straight after the ceremony I went upstairs to see the semi finals of the McMillan Quoits Competition. Barbara and her partner Pam are in the finals.
I've been having problems with the heel on my right foot almost since the cruise began, then in Sydney, my left foot began to swell and is still swollen. Finally, today, I stubbed my right little toe, which is now twice the size it was! I'll be one of the legion of the halt and lame that inhabit this ship before we get home, at this rate.
Formal night tonight and another Captain's cocktail party, so we don't need to use the wine we have stored for this day. We also had Cherries Jubilee for the first time on this cruise, they didn't set fire to them though :(
We won the quiz tonight, so that's another set of three for formal nights. We think that there will be three formals on the final sector, plus the one remaining on this, so we may only need three more bottles to see us through and if there's another Captain's reception, we're covered!
The girls went to bed but the boys sat out on the Terrace and drank the last remaining Chilean beer. It had rained earlier, but was warm and dry with a nice breeze.
Oh, I guess you're worried about the clothes that had red wine chucked over them. Well stop worrying, every item is OK. White wine rubbed on the stains and something called Wine Away that Mike and his wife lent me all worked a treat!
