Kylie woke me at 5 o'clock. It was really cold in deck. We passed under the Golden Gate Bridge at 5.35. It was a bit of an anti climax, not as exciting as some other bridges, for some reason. None of my photos are any good. I was through the immigration process by 7.35.
Finally left the ship at 11.05, before any announcement had been made. Went to a local hotel to confirm pickup time for tomorrow's trip and posted my cards. Walked through Chinatown to Union Square and Market Street. I managed to buy everything on my list except a rain slicker. I spent shed loads of money on my cards!
Took the cable car back ($6!!!) to Fisherman's Wharf and strolled back to the ship.
Had a drink in the Hard Rock and then went to a sea food restaurant. While I was in there, I thought I saw Henry from my dining table. I went over to speak to him and Gillian, Jane and Margaret were also there. They invited me to join them. Later, Nick, one of the ship's photographers and I wandered into town. We had a drink at the Top of the Mark and rode the cable car back. He took over 150 photos. The cruise log for sector one was delivered today. Got to bed at one and I have to get up at seven!!
