Hello Sausages
Well Hellloooooo!
I'm a bit hungover today so if I write jibberish I'm sorry!
I'm in Hanoi, Vietnam and Loving this place big time. We were in Vientainne but we had to leave as there was the Asian conference where no tourists were allowed to enter or leave the city from 22/11/04 to 1/12/04. Vientainne was a bit boring, we saw the sights but all the pubs closed at 10pm I was half way through watching the Chelsea match when they pulled the plug (GRRR). We met up with Mandy and James from the trekking and also the American girls were staying in our hostel so we had a mini party there but got told to stop at midnight. So we decided to get the hell out of there. I also bumped into David, who wanted to meet for a drink, we said we would meet him at the fountain, but it got to hot so we sat inside and missed him, but he came to the bus stop to say goodbye (I am loving the French men).
SO after a 29 hour bus journey (Yes 29 HOURS) with stopping by the side of the road to piss, being searched at the Vietnam boarder we finally arrived in Hanoi. I was feeling awful!
Yesterday we just walked around this amazing city, it's so surreal, loads and loads of familys pile onto the street to eat (apparently from my book 'Hanoi stories' it's because there apartments are too small), then there are the motorbikes!!! They are EVERYWHERE and they don't stop for you, you risk you life everytime you go to cross the road as you have to walk out in front on moving traffic and I mean fast moving traffic. I am SO in love with this city, I can't say why specifically it's just the madness but then everyone else seems really laid back, eating on the street, walking around in there nighties, smoking bongs on the side of the street its fabulous.
I got my hair cut yesterday which I paid 3$ for which is about 2 pounds in England, the guy was amazing and straigtened my hair as well, so last night we went out, we met these guys on the 29 hour coach journey who said they were going to the Golden c*** for some drinks so we decided we should give it a go too. I got everyone doing some Sabbbbbuccccccaaaaaaa and then we were rocking, we then went clubbing where a big fight broke out (not with any of us) so we left. So it's 3am in Hanoi and we're like NOOOO we don't want to go home yet so we get taken to this place and they give us a Karoke room where we order 2 bottles of Vodka and Coke (there were about 10 of us) and sung our hearts out (Bon Jovi was my favorite) I've got fabulous photo's that I have to burn to CD then upload.
Its funny because now it's hitting me what I'm doing, I was walking round Hanoi today and had to pinch myself, i'm SO glad I decided to do this.
Going to Ha Long bay tomorrow then heading south to Hue on Friday.
Catch you all soon.
Lots of Love.
