Hello Sausages
Hello,
Well there hasn't been loads happening but it's raining outside so I'm updating you all.... We went to Halong bay last week and David (French) was on the bus, so fate has brought us together but I will tell you about that later. Since writing my last email I've been wading in water up to my knees (and I'm NOT KIDDING). Halong bay was beautiful and we went to all the Caves and saw the floating town when it started to rain (GRRRRR) after Halong bay we deceided to head down to Hue, this was a BIG mistake, Vietnam is flooded, I'm not sure if you've seen on the News but there are Typhoons in the Philipines and we've had the backlash of it, about 40 people have died in Vietnam alone. The coach ride to Hue was quite scary as the coach had to drive through 3/4 feet of water sometimes and we could have got stranded, but thank god it didn't we were all celebrating on the bus it was quiet cool.
On the way to Hue we met another couple of Irish girls called Amanda and Catherine and also a funny English guy called Lee so we spent most of our time drinking with them we all went to a bar called DMZ which was nice but very drunken, it was Catherines birthday so the shots came out again - WOO HOO. Hue was flooded though so we all headed down to Ho An.
In Ho An all you do is get clothes made - I've had SO many clothes made, 2 suites, a skirt, 3 tops all for 90$ (so about 60 pounds) and all of them are perfectly made and fitted. Ho An is very small and quiet but beautiful. We left Ho An 3 days ago and headed to Saigon (where I am now) it was meant to be hot but NO it's bloody RAINING AGAIN!!!! I went to the Ho Chin Minh City Museum today and to the Zoo with this Australian I met called Alex, everyone else stayed in bed.
I'm loving the motobikes now, We hired them out (well David drove and I held on for dear life) in Ho An and went to the beach and this morning hoping on a motorbike was as easy as getting into a black taxi at home, they drive like fools and jump the lights but it's cool.
Oh my god, we had another awful bus journey from Ho An to Saigon, 25 hours with the bus breaking down 6 times (twice to change the oil filter and 3 times for flat tyres and another time for something under the bus. We were all knackered.
Not much else to say, the rain is stopping alot and major news over here. Saigon is Full of Rats I've seen about 20 of them since arriving yesterday.
Take Care.
Lots of Love.
