Been in Darwin a while now, and starting to get a little stir crazy.. all this swimming and lazing in the sun can get a bit much for a girl... so heard some hostel friends talking about a 3 day 4WD adventure to Litchfield National Park and I thought why the hell not!

Ended up with two French guys - Romain and Anthony, and an Irish girl Claire and off we went. First day mainly stayed on the tarmac and visited the "tourist" waterfalls. It was still great to swim in natural lakes and under the waterfalls, even if we all got bitten by fish! We camped at the "lost city" and consumed alot of wine, listened to Trance music and danced around a fire. The next day we felt like absolute crap, but what a better cure than more waterfall swimming!?! The following night we layed off the wine a bit more and had an early, but very uncomfortable nights sleep. I only had a sheet stolen from the hostel, the mozzies were closing in, and Claire turned out to be the most squemish person I have ever met! She woke up at every noise demanding to know what it was. Its the outback for christsakes!!

The next day the 4wd really came into its own, offroading around the park. found more amazing waterfalls for swimming, and some lovely people shouted us a nice cold can of VB at the end of our last day... bliss! If it wasn't for the flies it would have been perfect. Got some awesome photos to upload later, but thanks to the gang for taking me and back to Darwin for my final week!
