I left my heart in San Francisco!!
What an awesome city! Bit different weather to the hot sunny climate of LA, infact more jumpers weather to be fair. Staring off foggy and windy, but getting nicer as the days go on.
Arrived 5.30am after a hideous overnight bus journey from LA. I'm sure some woman kept touching my hair whilst I was sleeping- ah the Greyhound. Got to love it! When we stopped at a service station I got back on the wrong bus as well, pleased I spotted that mistake before we took off. Oh, the comedy of travelling!
Back to San Francisco though its a massive, very hilly place, but the public transport is fantastic so you can get anywhere for 1.50 and practically no effort!!
Been to Haight street where all the hippys are and resisted buying half of it, down to the sea lions at pier 39- they were smelly and noisy and I still don't really understand why they are there! Checked out the gay district of Castro, and surprisingly there wasn't really that much to see!!
One of the highlights has got to be todays trip to Alcatraz- something I've always really wanted to do. It was creepy!! Really informative and historic- I just couldn't get over how close to the city it is! No wonder they used to be able to hear things, and think they could swim to freedom! Turns out you can't, its the Pacific not the Med!!
Seen the Golden Gate bridge too. From the boat it seems like nothing, but really pleased I saw it upclose as you suddenly realise the scale of it! Its HUGE! Quite impressed really!
Anyway, tonight off on a Hostel organised pub crawl, then flying to Vegas tomorrow. Oh the strain of travelling....!! XX
