Woke up at 6:45 half dead! am that is! I know, it wouldn't surprise you if it was pm! :p
Bus to Cameron Highlands was due at 7:00-7:30 and got here at 7:55! I don't mind if it's in the day but at this ridiculous hour in the morning I could've slept in!!
We then waited on the driver stuffing his face with two chocolate croissants and an iced coffee in his hands, whilst plummeting round corners at 60mph steering the minivan with his knees!
The rest of the drive was fine, arrived Cameron Highlands at 11:45 and booked our death for tomorrow! Seeing carnivorous plants! It's a four hour trek through the rainforest to get to the Raflesia and a bunch of other local stuff in the afternoon! It would usually make for a funny blog if I had the time or patience to write 16 blogs in one night but I don't!
We went to eat in an Indian restaurant and got far too much food, as I think everyone seems to do with Indian! Don't they? I had a curry which was a must-try local recipe made with turmeric, and fish paste! Not to mention all the rices, sauces, cheesy garlic naan bread... I'm so bloated I will actually pop! And even though it all came up to £2 I still can't waste food as my step father taught me!
Looked for Annie some shoes to do the trek in tomorrow, that girl would wear army pants and flip flops but wont wear crocs! Then went to Starbucks! I've not seen one in so long and I've gone 4 very hard months without one so I definitely deserved it! Little did I realise this would cause a pattern and I would later return 6 times in one week! Oops!
Then back to the hotel to book a bus back to KL on friday only to be redirected back to the town station where we met Bubblez the lookalike from little Britain! She was so short and stumpy, fat and lard seeped from every crevice of her pink hello kitty t-shirt! The bus back is 28Reems! That's not so reem anymore, that's £6! It's only a few hours away so I was told it was less than £3! This is the only ticket out of this one way town though so needs must! Trust me though, if I could walk, I would!
Back to the hotel again and spoke Bella the receptionist, shes so cute she invited us drain waterfall! She called it something else to entice us though I reckon and when we're already trekking halfway through the jungle she told us it really meant drain as that's all it looks like now; dried out and full of rubbish :(
Took us an hour to walk to a camping site were the river water is cold and clear for a dip :) really though one piranha and I'm gone!
We took the road back home so she could show us a strawberry farm! They're so cute the strawberries are so big and fat I want to pick them all off and run away which I would have probs done knowing me if I wasn't in the company of two new friends :(
Had the nicest shower when we got back to hotel, it is still shared bathrooms and they are outside but they're boiling hot and there's so much pressure it could blast a whole in the wall! Heaven! Think I spent over 40 minutes in there! Not unusual for me in England but in Asia, that's a first!
Went to eat, again! It was a cafe but was more like a chinese restaurant with chinese staff and chinese food but dutch themed interior! It was random! But the food, amazing! Steamed chicken and black bean sauce with veg and yellow noodles! This is what heaven feels like!
I can't stop eating today! I think it's because the highlands are freezing cold! And when I thought of Asia when I packed my bag I didn't exactly imagine a scarf and gloves, so I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt when it's only 8'c! It doesn't sound too bad but believe me after acclimatising to 30-40'c heat for the past 4 months it's physically making me shiver and I'm getting a sore throat! But you know I don't like to moan ;)
Solved the situation by going to Starbucks for the second time in one day for a hot chocolate!! And a second kit Kat chunky to give me energy I need to pull through these blogs! I ended up spilling my drink all over the bed so there's a pretty bad brown stain that soaked through all the sheets :/ still, it only adds to all the other mysterious stains that give these sheets there tie dye effect! :/
Wrote blogs in bed until 12:00am!! Sleep time!!! :D
