A while since my last update, as lately I have been struggling for access to a good wifi connection.

The journey through the north island brought plenty of the sunshine that seemed to evade me through the South Island. Better roads and more drivers made for mixed blessings as the dislike Kiwis have for cyclists really became apparent for the first time. I continued riding out of Wellington with Neil (who I teamed up with on the South Island) and spectacular scenery was enriched by seeing old friends and making new ones. In Coromandle Neil and I went our separate ways, him heading to Australia and me on to Auckland and north to Cape Reinga to complete the tour from the bottom to the top of NZ. A special thanks to all my hosts along the way. Cheryl, Jay and family you made me feel so welcome and the hikes were beautiful. In Malaysia now I plan to meet up with Neil again in Kuala Lumpur and continue the ride to Hanoi.
