16 June 2011. Yesterday we travelled from Frankfurt, Germany, to Prague in the Czech Republic, stopping to visit the city of Nuremberg. Nuremberg looks just the way it did in the Middle Ages! Today we begun our tour through Germany. Our tour guide Andee gave us an entertaining and informative lesson re European modern history. There is a magnificent Catholic cathedral in Cologne which fortunately survived bombing in the second world war. It's gothic in style and its size is immense. Plenty of wind turbines and quite a few windmills in the Netherlands! The canal system is fascinating, and keeps Amsterdam from being flooded ( it is about 3 meters below sea level ). There is the red light district and no restriction in using soft drugs. We enjoyed a canal cruise. Oh , of course I didn't visit r l d! Veto from the wife.

Yesterday, 12 June, we had a full day in London. Weather was wet and cold but we made the best of it. Travelled in an open top double decker bus. Saw Trafalgar square and Piccadilly circus. Impressive grand buildings and lots of historic statues. We had a guided tour of the Mews, Buckingham Palace, to see the royal carriages. We attend a church service at Westminster Abbey and heard a glorious choir singing. Heard Big Ben clock chime at 5 pm. Then we viewed Londo...

We arrived in Dubai airport at 4.30 am local time. Did some window shopping. Now flying to Heathrow in the double decker A380 superjumbo jet. Very exciting!
