Day 5 An early 7.30am start this morning. We left Sorrento headed for a six hour trip to Firenze (Florence). The trip was broken up with two stops. Day Four After a good night sleep, breakfast was well received. The usual was on offer; bread rolls, crunchy cornflakes and pastries washed down with a glass of orange juice, but today there was an espresso machine - so hot chocolates and REAL coffee were on offer. Day Three Today we went to the Vatican City for a two hour tour. It was full of artistic and historical treasures such as Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci and a few more. The collection included statues of Laocoon, the Apolla del Belvedere, the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Maps and of course the Sistine Chapel with a focus of Michelangelo's artistry on the ceiling and walls. Day 2 - Today everyone woke up feeling relaxed after such a big couple of days - we had croissants for breakfast ready to start our new day seeing the sights of Rome. We started our journey on the 16th September with sixteen Mitchell High School students leaving for Europe. They all turned up with their proud parents, their siblings and extend members of the family with grins on their faces from ear to ear.
