Day 5
An early 7.30am start this morning. We left Sorrento headed for a six hour trip to Firenze (Florence). The trip was broken up with two stops. The students took the opportunity to catch up on sleep. As the day progressed, there were many conversations happening and for some, they practised their dance moves.
We arrived to Firenze (Florence) a little later than expected where we were greeted by a tour guide where they saw the sights of Firenze (Florence), Firenze (Florence) Cathedral, where they saw the Duomo - which is coloured white, green and red, the colours of Italy. They learnt that the colours of the Dome - white is for charity, green is for hope and red is for courage. They also saw the statue of David which was a copy that was situated in a Piazza.
The students went out for dinner, but they are a little over pizza, pasta and veal.
Later in the evening, many students took up the opportunity to use the laundry mat. This was an experience for many of them as they have never washed their own clothes. They quickly learnt that it is important to separate your colours and what temperature to set the machine at. Some also experienced the vending machine for an espresso coffee. They did say that it tasted OK, but was not the desired colours.
We all retired late and are looking forward to exploring more of Firenze (Florence) tomorrow.
