MeznG. In the air, on the road, river or sea again
Today we are cruising all day. We leave Phnom Penh just after 9am and are heading towards the border between Cambodia and Vietnam. The actual border crossing will take about 2 hours due to the formalities involved. We have massages booked today, me at 10am and Glenn at 11am. The masseuse is a young Cambodian girl and although she is very slim, she has a lot of strength in her hands so the massage is very good. A bit too much for my liking but it did feel good once it was over.
There is time to sit up on the deck and chat before its lunch time.
After lunch we go back up to the sun deck. It's quite windy but it's still very warm. At 2.30 we have a napkin folding and towel folding demonstration followed by Lotus Flower folding and a cooking demonstration. Meanwhile we arrive at the border and drop anchor to wait for the formalities to be finalised.
We have our first dip in the pool. Not exactly big enough to do 2 strokes/lap but it's wet and surprisingly refreshing. While we are in the pool the boat has cleared customs and we resume our journey now on the Mekong.
Tonight after dinner we are entertained by the ship's crew performing traditional songs and dances followed by Rosie our cruise director and the keyboard player. We have dancing and group singing which is very funny and entertaining. But I think you had to be here to agree. I'm sure in the light of day we won't think we were quite as good.
For a cruising day it has been very enjoyable.
