Today was castle day. We cruised through the most famous stretch of the Rhine.Steep slopes covered in vineyards are dotted with castles and picturesque villages such as Boppard and St Goardhausen. We sailed past Loreley Rock which is at the deepest and narrowest point of the Rhine. After lunch we arrive at Rudesheim a world famous UNESCO area of the Hesse Province. This morning we woke up in Cologne in Germany. We did a walking tour of the town including the cathedral in this photo. We went by coach to Maastricht which is in the Netherlands. This is the home of Andre Rieu and we drive past his castle on the way to the city. Our guide is Sebastian a young German With an unusual Irish accent. It's our first morning waking up on the ship. We are still docked in Amsterdam. Breakfast is the full buffet. Today we have a canal cruise which although we have walked around a lot of the areas today we have a guide, Rolf so he can explain what we are seeing. Big day today. Took the Hop on Hop Off bus. Did a full lap to get a look at everything, it was raining so we didn't get off until we got back to the beginning. Had lunch and looked around in the shops. Transfer was booked for 2.30 to take us to the ship. Our Mercedes Benz arrived and we left Liz and Milton to take the bus with btw rest of the boat people.
