After lunch we boarded our speed boat for a 2 hour ride to San Cristobel. The boat ride was at a reasonable speed and in the open water we hit the waves pretty hard. The highlight of the trip was the fantastic performance by a pod of dolphins in the open sea. They had a great time surfing off the wake and I have never seen dolphins get so much air. It was amazing.
Once on land we arrange our snorkel equipment for tomorrow and then are free to explore. The population of this island is around 8000, a lot quieter than Santa Cruz. The sea lions call the beach their home and by the time 5 o’clock comes around there are just so many lolling about on the sand or making their way to the shore on the waves.
We witness a beautiful sunset over the ocean and then walk the length of the main esplanade.
Dinner is a simple burger in a very popular spot.
Lots of walking and snorkeling tomorrow!
