Airport Hopping
Very early start on Monday 3rd June by everyone to get us to the airport to start our journey to Lima Peru.
I am writing this while sitting waiting for the last leg of our journey. We are in Santiago Chile. The airport is surrounded by snow capped mountains, quite a spectacular setting.
We departed Brisbane at 8.45am Monday, departed Auckland at 6.20pm Monday and now after crossing the international date line Its 2.50pm and still Monday. By the time we get to Lima at 7pm (Peru time) we would have been on the go for around 29 hours. Definitely starting to fade now.
Met our guide Marcial at the airport along with 6 fellow Trip a Deal (ers) and were taken to our hotel in Miraflores, a 'nice safe' part of Lima. It was a 1 hour drive in peak traffic which was hectic.
We have a nice room in a nice hotel so all is good.
After a short walk we stopped and shared a pizza for dinner before returning to our hotel for a restful sleep.
