Today's Hike we went to a trail in Boulder called South Mesa. We hiked for just shy of 4 hours and covered 5.5 miles and 1800 elevation. It was a pretty trail with a variety of terrain from open meadows to a very rocky steep trail.It was also quiet warm today. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing many sights.

Today we were so fortunate to hike with our friends, Gary and Melody and their 2 Grandchildren Trenton and Laney. We did today's hike in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in Commerce City, CO. Beautiful place in sight of downtown Denver.Our hike today was mostly flat (no change in elevation), but a little longer at 5.75 miles. The first mile or so we watched 2 mule deer play. They ran and jump almost the whole time.

We officially started our 16 week training today. Gary and I took to the hills in our neighborhood this morning putting in a 40 minute hike. The dots in the picture are hot air balloons. A pretty common sight this time of year in our neighborhood. Beautiful morning and a great time hiking together!

Our second hike was the Enchanted Mesa Trail. This trail was a little longer with a l bit of elevation change. The trail was 2.95 miles and we hiked for 1.5 hours. Change in elevation was 500 ft. This was a very pretty trail with lots of scenery. The good news, no equipment failure. The camelback bladder held its water this time!
