Well since we last wrote our blog we~ve completed 2 weeks of Spainsh school and still can´t speak a word!

No it just turns out that you needed a rather good knowledge of adverbs, adjectives, nouns, prepositions and dipthongs and niether of us would rate English grammar as one of our best subjects!

We did however, get to meet other travellers, go out to bars, go to a Boca Juniors game and go on a couple of day trips by swapping travelling tips. Chris was smiling from ear to ear as we entered the ground and we´re still singing ``Dale Boca`` (their only polite song) from their triumphant win. The fans are crazy and are caged in the lower stands while we were up in the seated tiers like VIPs. When a goal is scored the whole stand shakes and flares go off and we got to see them score 4 times!

Our day trips have been up to Tigre (about 1.5hrs north of BA) where all of a sudden there are no roads and just rivers and boats, we were expecting it to be poorer communities living and working up there but it would seem its more of a play ground for the rich with massive waterside houses and speedboats crusing around.

We also went over to Uruguay for the day as it´s directly oposite BA across a 60km wide river - looks like a rather brown English Channel. The place we went to was very quaint with old cobbled roads and so quiet compared to the city din. Chris even managed to get a local to put Chelsea on in his pub so that he could watch them lose - ha ha! but after his upset we got to see a lovely sunset before heading home.

We´re now in Rio but it´s overcast and raining and the Christ the Redeemer has been blocked from view all day....hopefully tomorrow it will look like the brochure again.

We start our 4 week tour across southern Brazil and Bolivia tomorrow (5th April) and so will be heading off a bit more in to the wilderness but we´ll jump on the internet whenever we can to catch up with everyone.
