Well I can't remember where I left off...but I think it was with snorleling in Bonito. The rio da Prata is one of the best fresh water snorkeling in the world apparently and I must say that having now done it I can believe it as Ive'never seen water so clear and fish so unafraid. its way out in to the 'bush' with only the odd road but most is done by truck you then have to walk for 40 mins trhough the forest, it was spectacular. It also has fresh water springs bubbling up all over the place which is where everyone was trying to dive down to - appart from me who's not too keen on going too far under!

On our way back through the forest we also got to see giant anteatters and our first wild Toucans, both incredible but difficult to catch on camera!

There was little else to do in Bonito, so the next day we went off in to the pantanal and even more remote. This are a of Brazil is the size of France and again has few roads (and they are only dirt tracks) and some getting around by river but the easiest way for the locals is horse back.

The next set of photos will be of our safari rides and ranch that we were staying in, it was beautiful, we even managed to get out of our hammocks for dawn walks. There are 3-10million alligators living in the pantanal and they just basked in the sun, we also got to see more toucans and our first sightings of Mackors.

On one of our walks we got to see a racoon and some wild pigs that we had to run to keep up with through the undergrowth, our guide having spotted them through their cent - the rest of us had no idea what we were chasing to start with!

We also got to go fishing, and we both caught our first Pirahnas! and just for the record I caught more than Chris - Ha ha. We fed one of them to the cayman (aligators) to see how quickly they could snap and then struggled to get the line back! whoops. The rest was served up for dinner but while nice tasting we could have done with catching bigger ones!!

Our next trip is to get in to Bolivia over the rather dodgy Brazilian/Bolivian border...
